Pediatric Endocrinologist – AdventHealth for Children – Orlando, Florida
The Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is looking for a Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our outstanding program in Orlando, Florida.
Overview Responsibilities of the new physician will include high volume outpatient clinics featuring a wide variety of patients from age 0 to 18, outreach clinics (currently providing care in four locations), and inpatient coverage in equal rotation with other group members. The Pediatric Endocrinology program has a dedicated area for hormone testing and offers the full spectrum of dynamic hormonal testing and infusions. We have a large diabetes program supported by five nurse CDEs and a dietitian CDE; two social workers and a growth hormone coordinator also contribute to patient care. Working with an expanding, committed children’s hospital, an established and successful pediatric endocrinology group of four other physicians and four ARNPs, a strong referral base, a pediatric residency program, and robust hospitalist, NICU, and ICU services, this role offers the opportunity to build and shape a program within a family‑centered practice atmosphere and a competitive benefits and compensation package.
Responsibilities
High‑volume outpatient clinics (patients age 0‑18)
Outreach clinics at four locations
In‑patient coverage on a rotating schedule with group members
Development of a subspecialty niche based on physician interest
Participation in dynamic hormonal testing and infusion services
Collaboration with diabetes care team (nurse CDEs, dietitian CDE, social workers, growth hormone coordinator)
Requirements
Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics
Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Endocrinology (or board‑eligible)
Active Florida license, or ability to obtain one
Strong communication skills
Patient‑first mindset with a collegial team approach
Hospital Description Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full‑service, tertiary children’s hospital with over 270 dedicated pediatric beds, more than 30 pediatric ICU beds and a dedicated pediatric CICU, a 120‑bed NICU, a 17‑bed pediatric emergency department, and a statewide pediatric network and transport system. We launched our comprehensive pediatric open‑heart program in 2012 and sustain a strong track record of positive outcomes. The hospital hosts several key destination programs, including a pediatric head and neck program, a thyroid cancer program, a Level IV epilepsy program, the region’s only bone marrow transplant program, and solid organ transplants (kidney and liver). These 35 hospitals refer patients for tertiary and quaternary services to our main location near downtown Orlando.
