Tower Semiconductor
Overview
Tower Semiconductor is searching for a process engineer within Photo to support sustaining, improvements, and process transfer and development in a high volume manufacturing fab located in San Antonio, TX. A qualified candidate will be self-motivated, have strong technical and analytical skills, and possess a practical, hands‑on approach to engineering problems.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of the processes assigned and establish the direction for improvements, sustaining and overall operation
Work closely with process and integration engineers to improve process metrics, such as SPC, yield, parametrics, and defects, and to achieve first‑pass success of technology transfers
Take ownership of selection and qualification of semiconductor processing tools
Monitor fab metrics with statistical process control (SPC)
Provide root cause investigation of discrepant material and implement yield and defect improvement projects
Write operating specifications and provide technical training to wafer fab personnel
Work with equipment engineering to improve uptime and tool utilization
Troubleshoot process and tool excursions
Identify cost savings opportunities and drive projects to reduce overall costs
Implement advanced process control to improve Cpk at critical levels
Ensure matching of newly installed equipment to support production ramp
Develop new semiconductor manufacturing processes using design of experiments (DOE)
Qualifications
Recent Ph.D. graduate, preferably in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science
MS Degree with minimum 5 years of hands‑on semiconductor experience
Demonstrated above average academic performance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self‑starter, dependable and highly motivated
Strong problem solving and data analysis skills
Ability to work and communicate with equipment engineering to improve the area
