PLUMBING/MECHANICAL INSPECTOR
The City of Woonsocket is seeking a qualified Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector to report to the Director of Planning & Development and the Building Official. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant ordinances and regulations related to residential and commercial installations, as well as repairs and alterations of plumbing fixtures and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
Review all drawings and specifications for plumbing applications.
Issue permits and handle complaints of plumbing violations.
Conduct inspections of new and updated plumbing installations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years experience as a plumber or plumbing contractor.
Thorough knowledge of plumbing-related ordinances and regulations.
Valid Rhode Island Master Plumbers, Pipe Fitter License, Master Mechanical License, Journeyman Contractors, and Plumbers License.
Certification as a Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector by the Rhode Island Building Code Standards Committee.
Ongoing maintenance of state certification throughout employment.
Compensation & Hours
Salary: $1,307.69 per week.
Classification: Non-Union/Non-Classified.
Hours: 40-hour per week.
Position is full‑time, in‑person.
