Position Overview

Winston‑Salem State University seeks a Human Resourcesist to deliver comprehensive HR services across talent acquisition, position management, benefits administration, and HR systems support. The role manages the full recruitment lifecycle for staff, temporary employees, and Federal Work‑Study students while ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities

Manage the full life cycle of recruitment for staff, temporary employees, and Federal Work‑Study students. Oversee job postings, applicant screening, background checks, education verifications, and onboarding documentation. Coordinate and verify Form I‑9 and E‑Verify compliance. Serve as the campus trainer for search committees, ensuring equitable and compliant hiring practices. Prepare job offers and hiring proposals, including salary reviews and exception approvals. Counsel employees on career mobility and support departments with workforce planning. Track recruitment metrics (time‑to‑fill, applicant flow, offer acceptance rates). Promote WSSU’s employment brand and participate in orientation and engagement initiatives. Maintain accurate personnel, applicant, and affirmative action records. Process budgetary and non‑budgetary position actions and lead classification conversion processes. Conduct job analyses, desk audits, and JCAT reviews and perform classification, compensation, and FLSA status reviews. Administer benefits enrollments, lead benefits fairs, vendor days, and benefits education sessions and provide on‑site and virtual employee support for benefits‑related services. Provide training, troubleshooting, and user support for PeopleAdmin System and coordinate system upgrades with IT and vendors. Generate institutional HR reports and dashboards, maintain HRIS data integrity, manage HR ticketing system requests, process Personnel Action Forms, and analyze service trends to improve HR processes and communication. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and 2–3 years of Human Resources experience or equivalent combination of education and HR experience. Strong understanding of HR principles, employment law, and HRIS systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM‑CP) is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with PeopleAdmin, Banner, or equivalent platforms. Benefits and Compensation
