We are hiring a Permanent Full‑Time Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet in Portland, Oregon.

Position Summary Immediately hire a Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy‑duty vehicles. You will work independently on mobile service trucks, interacting with customers, completing repair orders, and maintaining all required safety and environmental records.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Pay: $37.00 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification (up to $700)

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter

Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends OFF (First Shift 6:00 am – 2:30 pm)

Responsibilities

Interact with customers, manage accounts, and facilitate preventative maintenance and repair issue resolution.

Coordinate work schedules and conduct road tests for vehicles to identify causes of complaints and ensure quality of repair work.

Perform system checks and repairs across A/C, heater, brakes–air, brakes–hydraulic, charging systems, cooling systems, cranking systems, lighting, drive axles, driveline, fuel systems, steering, suspension, tire and wheel maintenance, and vehicle coupling systems.

Use Shop Management Systems and electronic documentation to maintain service records and comply with safety, DOT, and corporate guidelines.

Ensure proper maintenance of all safety, environmental, and company policy records.

Mentor Mobile Technician II level and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Vocational or technical certification in a related field preferred.

Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment.

Must have minimum tools required to perform job duties as per Ryder's Maintenance policy 2.02.

Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, background check, and motor vehicle check (last 3 years).

Able to drive Ryder vehicles and secure the service truck contents.

Excellent customer service, account management, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as a team, prioritize workload, and excel in a fast‑paced environment.

Must be a valid NonCommercial Driver License CLASS E, Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, or required state driver’s license.

Must meet all safety-sensitive, DOT regulated, and safety position requirements.

Additional Training Requirements

SBTIII trained – SBT220 within 180 days.

2 of the OEM Online diagnostic tool software courses within 1 year.

Tire & Wheel safety – TW220 within 90 days.

Preventive Maintenance qualified (PM230 & PM298) within 90 days.

Brakes‑Air qualified (BA220 & BA298) within 90 days.

Brake Hydraulic qualified (BH220 & BH298) within 90 days.

A/C recycling/recovery certified – CF609 within 90 days.

A/C qualified (AC220 & AC298) within 180 days.

HD electrical trained – DR208 within 90 days.

Regulated Technician Requirements

Pass a Ryder drug test.

Pass a DOT physical.

Pass a Ryder road test.

Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (last 3 years).
