Job Summary KBR is seeking an HVAC Supervisor with technical knowledge and experience in residential, commercial, industrial HVAC, DDC controls, steam boilers, oil combustion, and plumbing. The role involves supervising and providing technical guidance to qualified technicians and mechanics for operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC and plumbing systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Roles And Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance to qualified technicians and mechanics providing operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC and plumbing systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Provide direct leadership and hands‑on guidance to maintenance personnel, acting as a technical expert to assist in resolving complex technical issues and troubleshooting.
Ensure all maintenance and repair functions are performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and recommendations, NAVFAC P‑300, NAVFAC P‑307, NAVFAC‑P301, and NAVSUP P‑538.
Manage and track the collection, recapture, and recycling of ozone‑depleting refrigerants in accordance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Ensure conditioned spaces are continuously maintained at the required temperature and air quality standards defined in the contract.
Assign, schedule, and monitor work orders to ensure timely completion of projects.
Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for HVAC staff.
Inspect HVAC systems and components to ensure proper installation, maintenance, and operation.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
Review blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to plan and verify installations.
Ensure compliance with local and federal HVAC codes and safety regulations.
Monitor job progress, materials, and equipment usage to maintain efficiency and cost control.
Conduct quality inspections and verify that completed work meets company and client standards.
Conduct safety meetings and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Provide regular updates on project status, personnel performance, and operational challenges.
Maintain accurate service logs, compliance records, and technician certifications.
Basic Qualifications
US Citizen
High School Diploma
Must possess the technical knowledge and experience on residential, commercial, industrial HVAC, DDC (controls), steam boilers, oil combustion, and plumbing.
Must have a current and valid license (state or municipality) or a Level III technician certification by a nationally recognized certifying organization, or a NATE certification (HVAC service & Oil hydronic).
Must hold Senior Level Efficiency Analyst NATE certification.
Must hold EPA certification section 608, type Universal.
The Level III technician certification requires completion of an apprentice‑level training program and a minimum of 4 years of progressive experience on multiple types of HVAC systems.
Mandatory Certification (Florida): Must possess a current, valid certificate or registration under Florida Statutes Chapter 489 Parts I, II and III for Class A Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration (HAR), Plumbing, Mechanical, and Unlimited Electrical, and Alarm Systems I.
Valid HVAC technician license or certification in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead technician role.
Experience managing teams, scheduling work, and overseeing multiple projects.
Must be able to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA safety certification preferred.
DDC Systems Experience: Experience troubleshooting and maintaining DDC systems from vendors like Alerton/Hoffman, Johnson Controls, FX, GFX, Java Application Control Engines (JACE), and Niagara 4.
