team in Syracuse, NY. Responsible for projects and engineering efforts that support the design, development, and improvement of new and existing products.

Position Description Tasked with coordinating efforts across Engineering, Marketing, Procurement, Quality and Operations functions to ensure the successful review, planning, execution, and closeout of projects that support the company's goals of increasing market share and profitability through creativity and innovation.

What Will You Do? Main Activities

Work with product line managers to review product specifications, and develop project estimates (scope, schedule, budget, technical feasibility, risk)

Build out project schedules utilizing the waterfall and/or agile methodologies

Break down major milestones into smaller deliverables

Use Smartsheet to track project schedules, budgets, and dashboards

Schedule and lead cross‑functional team meetings

Manage and review project milestone documents to ensure completion

Take thorough meeting minutes, assign action items, and follow up on open actions

Align projects and programs with larger organizational initiatives and direction.

Assist Management with developing and maintaining the project management process

Maintain project documentation and contribute to project Gate meetings

Other duties as assigned by management

Main Job Duties

Work with product line managers and engineering teams to evaluate initial product specifications and provide guidance on technical risks and estimated schedule, budgets, and product costs.

Manage project/program planning and execution, stage‑gate approvals, and deployment planning meetings.

Execute and deliver projects/programs on‑scope, on‑time, on‑budget, with quality and customer satisfaction—promoting and executing using project management methodologies and tools, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Identify and manage the delivery of all project deliverables with team members.

Manage, track, document, and communicate all changes to the project (e.g., scope, schedule).

Organize the project team to carry out the project plan with assistance from function managers.

As project team leader, have responsibility and authority necessary to keep project on track, escalating to managers and Product Committee as appropriate.

Develop a budget for the project, track project expenditures including coordination of purchase orders, track man‑hours and other resources spent on the project.

Manage the identification, impact, mitigation, and communication of risks.

Hold project status update meetings, communicate status regularly, and serve as the point of contact for assigned projects.

Qualifications Education Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BS) minimum, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.

Experience 1‑3 years of experience managing projects, direct experience with new product development preferred. Experience with electronics highly desired.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective listening, maintaining focus to extract necessary information and validate understanding.

Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail, ability to handle multiple priorities and projects.

Product design experience with electro‑mechanical assembly design (ideal).

Experience designing products for low cost and high‑volume manufacturing processes (ideal).

Knowledge of UL requirements.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.

Ability to work with Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers for design of internet‑connected products (IoT).

Travel (regional and international) less than 10% expected.

Project management methodology knowledge.

Experience in all aspects of the new product development life cycle; understand product life cycle overall.

Lead cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects effectively.

Strong cultural sensitivity for effective communication and partnership.

Strong computer skills: project management software, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, e‑mail, meeting management.

Efficient use of internet and web resources.

Excellent project management skills, demonstrable ability to develop and manage project plans, set priorities, meet deadlines, control multiple projects.
