Job Summary Responsible for inspecting equipment, planning and laying out jobs related to structural building or repair projects. Work requires drawing sketches, making time and material estimates, requisitioning needed materials, and may include performance of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work. The work is subject to inspection during progress and to a final inspection upon completion by the Facilities Director or another administrative superior. Perform weekly stand‑by/on‑call duties for campus emergency call backs and requests for maintenance assistance as required. Assist with general building maintenance. Works with Events Crew.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the university in implementing the statement of purpose.
Assist the university in implementing the long‑range institutional plan.
Plan and participate in varied phases of construction and repair including: facility remodeling, installing and repairing plumbing; replacing doors, windows and siding; building cement forms; building and replacing concrete sidewalks, foundations and floors; repairing roofs and installing new roofing; repairing broken windows and installing new windows; painting interior and exterior walls and other surfaces; building and repairing stone and brick walls and floors; and sheet metal work such as replacing and repairing guttering and drain spouts.
Participate in routine maintenance electrical work; participate in minor electrical work with appropriate training and education.
Plan and lay out work and keep a record of amounts of materials used.
Perform other related work as assigned.
Must be able to perform duties in an on‑campus setting.
