Job Summary The Industrial Electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings such as manufacturing plants, warehouses, and processing facilities. This role requires advanced troubleshooting skills, knowledge of high-voltage systems, and the ability to work safely around complex machinery and control systems.

Day to Day

Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including lighting, climate control, security, and communications

Work with blueprints when installing electrical systems in manufacturing facilities, wastewater treatment plants and other structures

Able to indicate on blueprints the location of circuits, outlets, load centers, panel boards, and other equipment

Install new electrical equipment

Maintain and repair electrical systems as quickly as possible in order to minimize inconvenience

Able to replace items such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire

May work with engineers or engineering technicians

Perform the installation of various electrical systems per NEC state/local regulations and complete construction documents while maintaining the highest levels of OSHA compliance

Review specifications, blueprints, and job scope for technical accuracy

Perform electrical testing and monitoring of systems and make recommendation for improvement/repair

Requirements

Technical ability:

technical and mechanical skills necessary to read and understand blueprints and technical diagrams, then install or service various electrical systems

Physical fitness and dexterity

– many jobs require certain levels of fitness due to the nature of the environment in which the work is performed. That includes but not limited to climbing ladders, working in small and confined spaces, or carrying equipment and materials to and around the project site.

Knowledge of National Electrical Code

Detail oriented

– have a keen eye for detail in following safety standards and project designs, as well as the execution of the project itself

Valid Driver's License

Successful completion of a background and drug screening

Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems on any converting plant equipment including any electromechanical production equipment.

Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods.

Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components.
