Road Mechanic / Technicians
Job Description Summary Sunbelt Rentals seeks an energetic Road Mechanic who performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet that includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and specialty equipment such as generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas components.
Key Responsibilities
Work on a variety of makes, models & equipment in challenging remote locations.
Develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management.
Work with an incredible team of people in a safety‑focused environment.
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
Qualifications & Education
High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired.
3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC or oil & gas equipment).
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Proficiency in electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Might need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs.
Physical Demands Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to comply with applicable laws.

Base Pay Range $23.58 – $32.41 per hour (starting rate may vary based on position, location, education, training and experience).
