Retirement Plan Support Specialist-TPA/DPS NBT Bank

Pay Range: $19.45 - $25.93

Responsibilities

Provide daily support to Retirement Plan Client and Technical consultants to administer retirement plans and trust accounts for clients.

Communicate directly with internal teams.

Education and Experience

Associate degree and one year related experience or equivalent combination.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and technical procedures.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts.

Ability to prepare Excel spreadsheets, reconcile numbers, and analyze financial data. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must have knowledge of advanced Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, Access and ability to develop application software skills as provided by internal training.

Tasks Performed

30% Prepare Trust Accountings, Reconcile Financial Data, and Import Data.

25% Publish Form 5500 for client signature, 8955-SSA, complete Form 1099R and 5558, assist Retirement Plan Compliance Consultant in preparation of Form 5330 for client signature.

20% Coordinate annual compliance needs: generate & import Employee Census Files, prepare and review output to ensure information meets the needs of each individual retirement plan.

20% Administrative processing of distributions, hardships, loans, etc.

Physical Requirements

Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers.

Stationary 75% of time or greater.

Move objects up to 10 lbs.
