Position Summary
Provide instructional support to percussion students during the school day, with occasional assistance for after-school rehearsals, performances, and events.
Work collaboratively with campus and department staff to advance program goals and carry out assigned duties under the guidance and supervision of professional certified personnel.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency.
Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the candidate.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience related to the position.
Proficiency in all areas of percussion.
Experience teaching percussion, preferably at the secondary level.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Skill in communicating effectively with diverse groups of individuals utilizing tact and diplomacy
Ability to establish and maintain solid service relations with all staff, students, and administration
Knowledge of proper campus procedures and etiquette
Skill in coaching, accompanying, instruction, and tutoring etc. to meet the requirements of the position
Knowledge of general office equipment
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities
Provide percussion instruction to middle and high school students.
Assist in developing skills in concert and marching percussion.
Collaborate with band directors to align, plan, and implement percussion curriculum.
Maintain and manage percussion equipment.
Support extracurricular performances and events as needed.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality concerning all students and staff
Complete required forms,
Perform duties assigned by District Staff
Adhere to District policies and procedures
Attendance and punctuality arerequired
Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard instructional equipment, including personal computer and peripherals.
Posture: Prolonged standing, frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Frequent walking, including frequent keyboarding/use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting: Regular to moderate lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds); may lift and move textbooks, classroom and musical equipment.
Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise.
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours.
