Benefits Specialists are responsible for managing the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-and long-term disability, 401(k) plan, and leaves of absences.
Essential Job Functions:
Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
Performs quality checks of benefits-related data
Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
Distributes all benefit enrollment materials and determines eligibility
Enrolling employees with benefit vendors and process status changes
Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
Reconciliation of bills
Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personnel, disability and FMLA.
Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
Responds to 401(k) inquiries related to enrollments contribution changes; reviews weekly transfers before transmitting contributions to the 401(k) administrator; assist with annual audit process.
Assist with the open enrollment process.
This is a full-time hybrid position that will work Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
BS degree in human resources, business administration, or finance
Two to five years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration required
Strong knowledge of current labor rules and regulations
