HR Business Partner – HNTB

This position is based in‑office at either the Austin or Houston, Texas location. Remote or hybrid schedules are not available. What You’ll Do
Partner with business leaders to understand their needs and align HR strategies and solutions with their goals, developing positive working relationships and partnerships across the company. Provide guidance and support to business units on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Collaborate with HR departments to implement, administer, educate on, and deliver HR services, programs, training, and policies that support business units and HR objectives. Manage employee relations, including investigations and solutions for fair and timely conflict resolution. Support talent management initiatives—workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development—identifying employee development and training needs and implementing plans to address them. Analyze compensation data and counsel on maintaining external competitiveness and internal equity. Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations affecting HR. Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, providing analytics and insights to assigned groups. Conduct exit interviews, analyze turnover trends, and work with leadership to develop engagement and retention strategies. Participate in the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives. Provide regular status updates to HR leadership on progress and impact. Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a relevant field and 5 years of human resources experience. What You’ll Bring
In-depth knowledge of HR functions and willingness to learn HNTB processes. Desire to understand the operations of the business and how revenue is generated. Adaptability to solve problems and execute essential day‑to‑day HR activities. Track record of helping leaders execute organizational changes and communication plans. Ability to assist leaders in understanding talent needs for future growth. Data proficiency to interpret, create visualizations, and present compelling stories. Strong diagnostic skills—asking probing questions and uncovering root causes. Risk‑management skills for internal operations and market insights. Understanding of HR function distribution and effective support for Centers of Excellence. Growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time. Preferred Experience
5 years of HR Business Partner experience consulting with leaders on strategy and program administration. Experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction is a plus. Additional Information
