Looking to take on exciting, creative projects in a hands‑on environment where engineering meets innovation? We are seeking a Contract Design Engineer to join a collaborative team onsite in Overland Park, KS. Work directly with industry leaders on cutting‑edge experiential and architectural installations. This is a 1099 contract role ideal for professionals who are highly skilled in SolidWorks and fabrication‑focused design, and who thrive in fast‑paced, highly creative environments.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Design Engineer position include :
3–5 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in construction or fabrication
Expertise in SolidWorks, including top‑down and in‑context modeling, with minimal redlining required
Strong understanding of fabrication technologies (metal, plastics, plywood / MDF, etc.)
Ability to read architectural drawings and convert them into production‑ready documents
Collaborate closely with internal teams including Designers, PMs, Engineers, and Fabricators
Lead small to mid‑size project elements and coordinate standards (materials, parts, colors)
No travel required; onsite presence in Overland Park, KS is essential due to high team collaboration
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Themed Entertainment Design, or Mechanical Engineering
Salary:
$33.50 - $37.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
