About the role As a Senior Engineer - Fuel Performance (Mandarin speaker) you will work with diverse international teams to support fuel assembly and core performance.
You will report to the Manager - Project Performance Engineering. This role is hybrid, located in Columbia, SC.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluation and Response to customer questions regarding fuel assembly and core component performance and acceptability
Perform evaluations of Rod Control Cluster Assemblies for anticipated wear and lifetime.
Perform and lead Post Irradiated Examinations (PIE) of Fuel Assemblies and Core Components
Be the main contact between Product Performance Engineering and our Asia Fuel Delivery team and Chinese customers.
Work with diverse teams of technicians, engineers, and other professionals to plan and complete projects within budget
Support evaluations of our products exposed to fuel handling incidents at customer sites
Track performance of Fuel products and maintain performance databases.
Support the CFFF on issues related to product performance
Support Westinghouse Reactor Services on issues related to fuel handling and inspections.
Can maintain unescorted access to customer sites
Travel (domestic and international) up to 30%
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical) or related Discipline (e.g. Materials) preferred or recognized equivalent required
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience
Mandarin language skills and the ability to interpret between Mandarin and English during technical meetings
Fuel Performance, Fuel Design, or Field Service (work at customer sites) related experience
Ability to travel to customer sites; ability to maintain Unescorted Access Authorization for operating nuclear facilities.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
