The Resilient Connectivity Products Engineering Department within Mission Systems is seeking a

Mechanical Engineer II

to help design and develop the next generation of high-performance communication systems.

In this role, you’ll contribute to the electronics packaging design and development of advanced communication products, including sophisticated software-defined radios and data links used across ground, airborne, and space platforms. Your work will directly support mission-critical technologies where performance, reliability, and innovation matter.

What You Will Do

Use and apply mechanical engineering principles and techniques to design, develop, document, verify, and support sustainment of communication products.

Creation and modification of mechanical design artifacts (models, drawings).

Support prototype build and verification and pre-qualification testing.

Work closely with a multidiscipline team to ensure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product's lifecycle, including supporting integration, testing and qualification of the final product.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD). Includes working knowledge of model creation, interrogation with a CAD tool (examples may include NX and/or Solidworks).

Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and/or DO-160 environmental requirements.

Familiarity of electronic product packaging requirements.

Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Experience with Agile development methodologies, including planning, tracking, and managing hardware.
