The Warbird Factory, located at Albany International Airport, is seeking an experienced Lead Aircraft Technician (A&P) to serve as the primary floor leader in our growing general aviation and Cirrus-focused maintenance operation.
Position Overview
The Lead Aircraft Technician is responsible for executing daily maintenance operations on the shop floor. Working closely with the Shop Manager, this role includes leading daily morning meetings, coordinating daily workflow, mentoring technicians and apprentices, and ensuring work is completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
Responsibilities Overview
Perform advanced troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on GA and Cirrus aircraft.
Lead daily morning meetings and manage workflow execution.
Support and mentor technicians and apprentices.
Enforce FAA, OEM, and Cirrus ASC maintenance standards.
Conduct quality checks and ensure accurate documentation.
Maintain shop safety, cleanliness, and tool control.
Coordinate aircraft readiness and return-to-service.
Required Qualifications
3-5 years’ experience with piston aircraft maintenance and repair.
Strong understanding of FAA regulations and standards.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications (one or multiple)
Experience with Cirrus Aircraft or Cirrus Factory Certified.
Inspection Authorization (IA) Certification.
Starting pay commensurate with experience.
