Job Title Tax Senior, Digital Transformation & Innovation – Project Management (Senior)

Job Summary The Tax Senior, Digital Transformation & Innovation – Project Management (Senior) will support the BDO Tax Digital Transformation and Innovation team by assisting in the execution of technology development projects. The Senior will contribute to the success of projects by ensuring tasks are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of project management and familiarity with both waterfall and agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

Initiate, plan, execute, and implement project plans for technology development projects within the Tax Digital Transformation and Innovation portfolio.

Establish project purpose, expectations, scope, and ensure coverage of all requirements.

Identify stakeholders directly or indirectly affected by the project.

Define clear milestones and a timeline to ensure a smooth flow of events.

Forecast budget estimations and ensure alignment with financial controls.

Implement the project plan, carry out tasks necessary to achieve objectives.

Identify risks, issues, and interdependencies; develop mitigation strategies.

Maintain documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Participate in post‑project evaluation workshops to capture learnings and document improvement areas.

Manage meetings: create agendas, record decisions and action items.

Collaborate with the Project Manager and Deployment Lead to ensure alignment with product objectives and company goals.

Use project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) to track tasks, monitor progress, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.

Facilitate communication among project team members and stakeholders to ensure understanding of objectives, timelines, and deliverables.

Assist in the creation and implementation of project plans that meet client and professional needs.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor’s Degree (required); preference for Business, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Technology.

Three (3) or more years of experience with project management and software development lifecycle (required).

Experience as a project associate or similar role in technology development projects (preferred).

Experience in the tax or accounting professional services industry (preferred).

Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification (preferred).

Scrum Master or Agile Certified Practitioner (preferred).

Proficient with project management tools such as MS Project and Smartsheet (required).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.

Basic knowledge of project management principles and software development lifecycle.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Problem‑solving and conflict resolution abilities.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline‑driven environment.

Self‑motivated, disciplined, and passionate about collaboration and support.

Capability to interact professionally at all levels.

Salary Range National: $80,000 – $140,000 • Maryland: $80,000 – $140,000 • NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $80,000 – $140,000
