Guardian Glass is looking for a Coater Process Engineer to join our team in Richburg, SC!
In this dynamic position, you'll lead daily optimization efforts, troubleshoot complex coating and vacuum issues, and drive experiments to refine manufacturing processes for higher quality and efficiency. You'll be at the forefront of new technologies, analyzing thin film products, enhancing existing processes, and developing critical documentation. What You Will Do
Provide production support and troubleshoot coating and vacuum issues
Lead daily efforts to optimize production, improve yields, increase machine up‑time and lower costs
Design experiments and conduct testing to refine manufacturing processes, reduce variation, improve quality and improve efficiency
Ensure manufacturing capability is developed and prepared for new technologies
Monitor and analyze Thin Film products to detect and resolve process abnormalities
Troubleshoot process upsets, monitor coating performance against design, and provide engineering support to manufacturing when requested
Review existing processes and enhance them to improve yield, cycle time, quality, reduce cost and eliminate waste
Develop and maintain process documentation, including process flow diagrams, operating procedures, and work instructions
Calibrate and troubleshoot all the QC equipment and In‑line Optical measurement systems
Identify and analyze the causes of deviations and interventions in production and develop action plans to avoid recurrences
Provide technical support to interface areas, in a 24/7 operation
Carry out studies and analysis of projects aimed at operational excellence
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Optical Engineering, or Materials Science
Process or manufacturing engineering experience
Must be able to support a 24/7 operation
What Will Put You Ahead
Thin Film or Optical Coating experience
Experience with Manufacturing equipment and related systems
Statistical process control knowledge
