Role description Arcadis seeks a GIS Specialist to provide analytical and consulting support for US State Departments of Transportation. Responsibilities focus on cartography, data management, and design and implementation of enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using Esri‑based software, supporting Esri Roads and Highways, ArcGIS Enterprise, business system integration, and visualization tools.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain line and point event data using advanced linear referencing systems and analyze datasets within an LRS network.
Produce mapping, cartography, and visualizations of GIS datasets with Esri technologies.
Maintain data required for Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) and Certified Public Mileage (CPM) reports.
Identify and design business processes for Workflow Manager (WMX) and develop Data Reviewer checks to validate data conversion and creation processes.
Manage GIS data through editing and quality assurance best practices.
Use Event Editor on ArcGIS Server to maintain GIS data, parse REST service calls, and design geoprocessing models with model builder and Python.
Translate geospatial data using FME and collaborate both independently and within a team.
Work within a flexible location and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro products (ArcGIS Pro, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Portal, Survey123, etc.).
Proficiency in Esri Roads & Highways applications and enterprise database management.
Knowledge of linear referencing concepts.
Familiarity with enterprise database environments, including versioning concepts.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for complex reports and presentations.
Experience with Asset Management software and concepts.
Advanced analytics and data visualization techniques.
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
