What You’ll Do The Mechanical Section Manager leads an effective and productive team of technical professionals within CHA’s Advanced Energy team. You will organize, direct, and coordinate activities associated with project scope of work, manage project budgets, achieve team utilization targets, and motivate your team to exceed expectations.
What You Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Energy Systems Engineering required
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Minimum of 4 years of discipline‑specific engineering experience; previous project or team management experience preferred
Strong knowledge of engineering discipline with proven ability to apply best practices
Industry knowledge of the design, construction, and management of HVAC and thermal energy (steam, hot water, chilled water, and tower water) systems and equipment
Ability to collaborate in planning, design, and construction activities
Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
Familiar with QA/QC procedures and basic business practices and laws related to engineering
Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, managers, clients, contractors, consultants, and the public
Articulate, persuasive communicator with effective verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office required
Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
Technical proficiency in your discipline
Strategic thinking and ability to manage team activities
High energy, results‑oriented, resourceful leader
Ability to resolve matters promptly and lead projects to completion with a sense of urgency
Ability to inspire, motivate, build, and manage relationships across the company
Experience with project budgeting required
Basic understanding of accounting processes
Knowledge of the discipline’s technical processes
Salary Range $105,840 – $122,580 (based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, and market evaluation)
