Based in Leeds, AL and reporting directly to the Cost Manager, the Cost Accountant will serve as a key member of the Finance team and have responsibility for a variety of costing and inventory activities. Monthly closing and reporting process, using financial reporting systems. Working with Bill of Materials and Product Routings through SAP system. Assist in monthly variance analysis including, but not limited to, PPV, freight, material usage, production order, labor, and burden (overhead) variances. Providing analysis and support to Internal and External Audits of the businesses. Reviewing, analyzing and updating standard product costs as they relate to labor, material and overhead. Assist in cycle counts and physical inventories and reconcile all differences. Assisting with department spending analysis and facility budgets and forecasts. Support for internal and external audit activities. Complete ad hoc financial information requests. Performs other related work as assigned. What will help you thrive in this role?
1-3 years cost accounting experience using SAP in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Strong analytical, planning and communication skills. Strong computer skills; proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel & Word. Company Background
