The scope of Hubbard's work includes complex highway projects, site development, paving, utility and drainage systems, surveying, RAP and hot mix sales, and state‑of‑the‑art bridge building. We provide multiple delivery systems in design‑build, bid‑build, public/private‑partnerships and design‑build finance.

General Description The Associate Cost Controller position performs a combination of the duties described more fully below. The primary responsibility will be to manage all financial aspects of the Orlando Paving and Hot mix business units of Hubbard Construction. The Associate Cost Controller reports to both the Regional Finance Controller and the Division Manager. The job is based in Orlando, Florida and requires on‑site presence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare monthly financial statements and communicate results to executives.

Analyze financial reports and develop new financial strategies to achieve company goals.

Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the division’s finances.

Supervise a team of 3 accountants.

Manage the completion of the month/quarter/year‑end close for the division.

Prepare budgets and forecasts for the division and present them to the executive team.

Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers on project budgeting and cost control.

Travel to jobsites as needed.

Prepare monthly journal entries.

Support Corporate with internal and external financial audits.

Ensure security, integrity, and confidentiality of data.

Assumes other special activities and responsibilities as required.

Qualification Requirements General To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

Understanding of construction job costing, billing cycles, retainage, and WIP accounting, desired but not required.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in project financials.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial data with integrity.

Clear and concise communication skills to interact with project managers, estimators, and executive leadership.

Strong organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize under pressure.

Ability to summarize and analyze multi‑faceted financial data.

Requirements

5-10 years of experience in financial or accounting roles, preferably within the construction industry is a plus.

SAP experience is a plus

Proficiency with MS Office Suites.

Physical Demands

Frequent ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;

Ability to drive a company vehicle for various recruiting events.

Frequent ability to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone;

Frequent ability to operate standard office equipment, using hand and arm dexterity;

Frequent ability to navigate through office environment, including periodic use of stairs and/or elevator, as needed;

Infrequent ability to lift general office documents and materials, up to 10 pounds;

Frequent vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment Characteristics

Work generally is performed in an office environment, although periodic visits to construction sites and manufacturing facilities may be required.

Noise level in the typical office work environment is quiet.
