Extrusion Assistant

The Extrusion Operator has the primary responsibility in the day-to-day product process flow at the extrusion line; in their absence, the Extrusion Assistant will step up and perform the day-to-day product process flow. The primary function is to produce the products within specification while operating and maintaining the specified equipment. Responsibilities include ensuring proper materials are used and setting screw and profile temperatures; ensuring proper water flow to extruders and temperature controllers; setting hot air oven temperatures and microwave profile; setting proper puller and drive speeds appropriate to the design profile; aligning and utilizing proper equipment (brushing machine, cooling trough, etc.); setting up and operating traceability printer and Pixargus; maintaining in-line coating applications; setting up and stringing sup‑straight media as required and preparing proper packaging; setting up, mixing components (paint), maintaining spray systems, and meeting quality standards with minimal scrap; changing gun components as required; maintaining spray fluid levels, cleaning the entire system, and replacing hoses; maintaining, cleaning, assembling, and disassembling dies properly; ensuring the extrusion line runs with minimal scrap levels and smooth startup and die changes; assisting in screw changes and helping the Extrusion Operator and Extrusion Rubber Feeder at all times; performing PE welding, setting up the plasma unit, mixing and applying flock glue; knowing all aspects of the flocking machine (set‑up, operating, filling, and cleaning); inspecting and packing flocked profiles and performing online flock testing.
