Position Summary
The Project Accountant is responsible for coordinating all phases of the construction job costing process including categorizing, recording, analyzing and monitoring costs and billings associated with a large construction project. This position also assures vendor compliance in order to manage project risk. This role is assigned to a large construction project, working closely with the Project Manager to assure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.
Position Details
Compiles,preparesand analyzes monthly project billings per contract requirements.
Performs financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs versus project budget.
Processes project accounts payable and subcontracts payable.
Manages vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s
Produces and analyzes job performance and profitability throughjobscost tracking reports.
Assistsin preparation of status reports andmaintainsaccurateproject statuses and budget information in COINs.
Identifies and resolves basic and more complex project-related accounting issues and resolves in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree inAccounting orFinancepreferredor equivalent experience
3-5years’of project accounting experience preferred
Strongaccounting knowledge
Strongorganization skills withhigh levelof attention to detail
Strongwritten and verbal communication skills
Strongcustomer service skills
Stronganalytical skills
Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure

Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate to expert level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. required
