Transportation Planning Analysis Engineering Associate
Join DKS Associates as a Transportation Planning Analysis Engineering Associate. This position assists with planning and operations analysis tasks of various transportation projects, including multimodal corridor studies, long‑range planning, travel demand modeling and forecasting, safety evaluations, intersection operations analysis and simulation, electric vehicle charging station plans, and data analytics.
Responsibilities
Perform technical tasks, assist in reviewing technical work prepared by others, and conduct advanced analysis.
Support transportation safety planning through crash data analysis, safety evaluations, and application of the Safe System Approach.
Conduct technical transportation analysis, including traffic operational analysis using Synchro, Vissim, and other traffic and modeling software to analyze transportation performance across a range of modes and vehicle types.
Work with multi‑disciplinary teams on corridor studies, transit operations, area plans, system plans and other technical transportation projects.
Communicate technical findings to project managers and group managers.
Work on significant projects across the West Coast and within local communities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, or similar field; Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering or Urban and Regional Planning desired.
3 or more years of experience in Transportation and Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning, GIS, Statistics, Traffic Flow Theory, or Travel Demand Modeling.
Interest in transportation systems, active transportation, traffic flow and operations.
Ability to work in a team and independently.
Attention to detail and ability to perform self‑review of work.
Experience writing scripts to automate procedures and emulate control logic desired.
EIT certification desired.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Creative problem solver.

Pay Range Associate (posted job): $85,200 – 98,400 per year.
Assistant: $35.77 – 38.89 per hour.
EIT: $33.37 – 35.19 per hour.
