Supervisory Responsibilities
Regularly review and communicate department performance in attaining goals, measuring performance, and delivering on established corporate metrics.
Develop and maintain a skilled workforce through timely coaching and feedback, cross‑training, and employee development.
Maintain a sound organizational development plan by establishing policies to drive retention, attract top talent and ensure adequate development of future leaders through succession planning and training initiatives.
Develop, implement and execute on strategic plans and financial goals across the operational landscape to meet deliverables and drive continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities
Develops daily work priorities and communicates workflow needs to the assembly team. Adjusts workflow and assigns tasks to meet manufacturing priorities and deadlines.
Interfaces with various resources to ensure successful completion and movement of the products through the assembly process.
Provides timely and effective communication to the appropriate team members when obstacles are unable to be resolved and are preventing manufacturing operations from continuing and/or are disrupting the manufacturing timelines.
Utilizes various visual and communication techniques and systems such as visual job board and hold shelf procedures as well as direct verbal and email communication.
Attends and participates in various production meetings to ensure workflow is aligned with company and customer needs.
Oversees the first piece process of product moving through the area and ensures that all product built meets quality requirements.
Provide effective time management of employee scheduling to ensure an equitable distribution of hours so employees are not over worked or underutilized.
Ensures employees are trained in their functions, cross‑train as required, and ensures that employees have an accurate training record containing objective evidence that employees know applicable processes and procedures of activities occurring within the department.
Ensures that assigned employees understand the concepts of Lean Manufacturing and their role in the process including the 5S approach to organizing and cleaning the assembly area.
Trains and mentor assigned employees to ensure each employee has the opportunity to transform into highly skilled operators with the ability to perform their tasks.
Maintains data and reports as required to be able to status and project manufacturing cycles and staffing, quality metrics, and process improvements.
Ensures that assigned employees are following all processes and procedures in regards to quality, safety, and manufacturing.
Provides regular feedback and coaching to assigned employees. Provides performance feedback to Director, Manufacturing.
Ensures proper staffing for the assigned area including hiring, training, counseling, and disciplinary matters.
Performs assembly of product duties as needed to maintain workflow.
Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required, technical or related college degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience required in a manufacturing experience required.
Mechanical aptitude including ability to read work instructions and engineering drawings.
Prior experience and/or knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Work Environment
Production Environment: Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
9/80 work schedule.
Occasional travel may be required.
