What You’ll Do
Review architectural and structural drawings, rebar schedules, and specifications to assess project scope
Perform accurate material takeoffs including bar sizes, bends, lengths, weights, and splice requirements
Prepare detailed estimates, bids, and proposals that align with company margin goals and customer expectations
Collaborate closely with the sales team to develop effective bid strategies and understand client needs
Coordinate with detailing, fabrication, and logistics teams to ensure estimates are aligned with production and delivery capabilities
Track and manage bid activity, maintain accurate records, and follow up on submitted proposals
Process change orders and revisions as project scopes evolve
Stay current on market trends, mill lead times, and relevant industry standards (e.g., CRSI, ASTM)
What You’ll Bring
2+ years of experience in estimating preferably in rebar, fabrication, distribution, or construction
Experience reading and interpreting construction blueprints and project specifications
Proficiency using takeoff software such as aSa, Soule Software, or Bluebeam
Understanding of geometry, unit conversions, and other commonly used math in estimating
Familiarity with CRSI standards, ASTM specifications, and rebar fabrication practices preferred
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage time and priorities independently in a deadline-driven environment
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
