Summary: Japanese logistics company seeks a Import/Export Coordinator in Lawrenceville, GA. *Relocation package may be provided!Position Location: Lawrenceville, Georgia Position summary Import/Export Coordinator who will work within a well-established team facilitating the importation of cargo promptly and accurately. They will be customer focused and responsible for the release of cargo based on established criteria and systems. This position requires an energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented person with solid follow through.This is a challenging role that will require competing priorities in tandem with the coordination of import or export shipments. in the NVOCC space. Thoughtfulness and organization will be key whilst working throughout their varying daily tasks. This includes rate confirmations, data entry, arrival/ invoice preparation, scheduling delivery with vendors/customers, etc. Responsibilities: Import/Export coordination Communicate between client and overseas for bookings Ability to perform work under time constraints Facilitate all aspects of importation/exportation of cargo as necessary Update and complete arrival notices Track and trace shipments – keeping customers well informed of any / all changes Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as freight rates, discounts, and other percentages Maintain documentation and records according to established company paperless protocol. Solid communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to travel locally and connect between key customers Proficient with shipping documentation, and Incoterms Able to take direction from supervisor and superiors. Computer knowledge at user level -Use and familiarity of Microsoft Office suite products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel) Experience researching problems for customers and proposing well-thought-out solutions Responsible for integrating and optimizing ocean shipping and delivery resources, continuously reducing costs, optimizing operational efficiency, and improving profitability Perform other import/export related duties as assigned As needed, negotiate rates, capacities to NVO operations and report monthly success to management An understanding of Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) is a plus. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience 2 years of Ocean experience in Freight Forwarding or third-party logistics company Work experience for a NVOCC is an asset. Completion of any industry related course is an asset NVO or Supply Chain Industry Experience — 2 years (required) Effective communication skills: ability to act as an effective advisor to management and employees across many issues. Ability in using computers with knowledge of MS Office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must be a persistent self-starter who can work effectively with all levels of the organization, and lead others with minimum oversight. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual in English and Japanese — Reading, Writing, Speaking (Highly Desired) Prior work experience or education for a NVOCC Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 35%, more on occasion with notice, Ability to travel domestically & International Travel Location: Lawrenceville, GA Salary: $55K-$60K (DOE, Exempt) Actus consulting
