Primary Responsibilities The QMA is responsible for providing the medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents.
Essential Functions
Provide medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of residents.
Administer and document oral, eye, topical, suppository, ear drop and other medications as ordered.
Perform treatments on minor skin conditions per physician orders.
Maintain locked medication cart and keys according to facility policy.
Check catheters frequently and provide catheter care as assigned.
Document all medications and treatments given in medication record and nurse's notes.
Maintain confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents’ rights and privacy.
Perform other duties as assigned by staff nurse or designee.
Qualifications
Must be certified by the Indiana State Department of Health as a CNA in good standing.
Must have completed a state approved training program in medication administration and have current QMA certification by the Indiana State Department of Health.
Have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana.
A high school diploma or GED.
