Responsibilities
Develop new business in the market and strengthen existing customer relationships, and successfully close business transactions to achieve sales goals.
Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face‑to‑face cold calling on business owners, direct mail, email, and networking.
Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge in all areas listed above to give effective presentations.
Sell consultatively and make recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions the company offers.
Create and conduct effective proposal presentations and RFP responses that identify prospects’ business problems, their effects, and SEKO solutions.
Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities—including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow‑up activities—within the assigned territory, using Microsoft Office products.
Possess a positive “can‑do” attitude while generating a compelling vision for the sales region; accept ownership of actions, development, and results.
Define optimal target accounts, analyze the sales arena, and use positioning strategies to exploit SEKO’s unique value propositions.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, ensuring they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Comply with SEKO’s C‑TPAT Security Profile and uphold SEKO’s core values: respect, customer focus, integrity, teamwork, and work hard, play hard.
Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace; comply with safety instructions for yourself and others, and cooperate with management to meet legislative obligations.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
Self‑motivated with excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Solid understanding of business acumen.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum Education & Experience
High School Degree or GED.
3 years’ transportation, logistics, or freight forwarding sales experience with a proven background of prospecting and closing sales.
Ability to sell a diverse suite of domestic and international products, including Export/Import Air Freight/Ocean Freight, FTL, LTL, Fulfillment, etc.
Valid driver’s license and a presentable, fully maintained and insured vehicle for business use.
Preferred
Sales or industry experience.
