Senior Product Development Engineer – Endoscopic Spine
Base pay range $120,000.00/yr – $150,000.00/yr. Position based in FL with excellent relocation program available.
A rapidly growing, innovation-driven orthopedic medical device company is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to support advanced spine implant and instrumentation programs. This role is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about improving surgical outcomes and wants to take meaningful ownership across the full product development lifecycle, from concept and design through testing, launch, and ongoing product evolution.
Key Responsibilities
Drive full-cycle design and development of ultra minimally invasive spine implants and surgical instrumentation
Develop and refine product designs to enhance performance, quality, and manufacturability
Lead cross-functional technical project teams through feasibility, planning, execution, and launch
Define project timelines and budgets; track and communicate progress
Create and maintain design documentation in compliance with medical device design controls
Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Quality to support submissions, training, and production scale-up
Provide technical support and education to internal teams and surgeon users
Determine and execute appropriate product testing for safety and performance
Engage in occasional travel for lab visits, surgeon interactions, and industry events (international travel possible)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Biomechanical engineering.
~5+ years of engineering experience (medical device preferred)
Proven ability to manage design projects with limited oversight
Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo/Pro‑E preferred)
Understanding of FDA and ISO standards for medical device development
Knowledge of orthopedic anatomy and surgical workflow (spine preferred)
Hands‑on experience with prototyping, testing, or manufacturing processes a plus
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines
