Structural Analysis Engineer (Associate & Mid-Level)
Join Boeing Global Services as a Structural Analysis Engineer in the F/A-18 Structural Analysis team at Hazelwood, MO. The team supports new source stand‑up, modifications, repairs, and spares production for legacy Hornet and Super Hornet aircraft, as well as F-15, T-45, and AV‑8B platforms. You will work with cross‑functional teams including Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Liaison Engineering, Technical Integration, Supplier Management, Production Operations, and Program Management.
Position Responsibilities
Conduct detailed stress analyses of aircraft primary structures using well‑defined analysis tools.
Verify structural integrity by applying analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools to develop and maintain performance characteristics of components.
Investigate in‑service failures and recommend improvements.
Provide real‑time support to supplier and customer activities.
Work under general direction.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or Materials Sciences).
2+ years of experience in structural analysis.
Knowledge of aircraft primary structure design principles (fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, material characteristics, repair techniques).
Experience with finite element modeling and structural analysis tools (NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Stress Check, Mechanica, etc.).
Technical writing skills for strength analysis reporting.
Willingness and ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
5+ years of related work experience or equivalent education and experience (Mid‑Level).
Deep experience with composites design and analysis methodologies.
Post‑production system experience with military aircraft sustainment, repairs, and modification programs.
Familiarity with Boeing stress analysis software (IAS, CSW, etc.).
Experience with F/A‑18 systems.
Pay & Benefits Summary Pay Range Associate (Level 2): $83,300 – $112,700. Summary Pay Range Mid‑Level (Level 3): $98,600 – $133,400. Benefits include health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off.
Other Requirements Relocation is offered based on candidate eligibility. Position requires U.S. citizenship to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Secret Clearance). No visa sponsorship.
