Role Definition Designs, develops, builds, and implements new components, circuits, products, or technologies via AutoCAD Electrical software. Research hardware BOM’s for Electrical Controls & Mechanical details and fitment. Project-based workflow and execution. Design and creation of electrical schematics, mechanical switchgear layouts, control panel layouts, and automation schematics. Adding all the details for a successful build cycle. Budget and projects timelines are key milestones to adhere to, for a measure or rate of success.
What You Will Do
Designs, modifications, and implements CAD templates in the execution of project-based schematic development.
Researching new components and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Understanding of Electrical Controls and how to wire them together. IE: PLC’s, Relays, Selector switches, pushbuttons, transformers, and communications protocols.
How to research new or unfamiliar components.
Computer-Aided Design & Engineering
Generates specifications for parts or components with Autocad Electrical software.
Reuses template design components via reusable libraries following standard procedures.
Uses Autocad Electrical to perform complex electrical designs such as Control Circuits, Mechanical Panel Layouts, and Database extractions.
Performs routine changes to computerized schematics or drawings.
Creates views of objects in 2 and 3 dimensions; create manufacturing drawing sets for assembly.
Product Design - MFG
Explains the major components and deliverables of functional and technical designs.
Describes tasks, activities and key concerns during the functional and technical design phase.
Cites examples of good and bad designs derived from previous projects.
Clarifies standard design methods, tools, and guiding principles.
Explain basic electrical controls concepts and methods.
Product Design and Development
Summarizes the overall process for developing a new product or service for the organization.
Identifies the organizational business units that have input into the development process.
Collects information on current and prior design and development successes and failures in the organization.
Describes the basic tools used for design and development.
What Will Put You Ahead
Degree Requirement: A degree in accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum
3-5 years of equivalent experience.
CAD Software Experience: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Vault
Microsoft Proficient: Word, Excel, Outlook and Access

Summary Pay Range $87,480.00 - $131,280.00
