Globe Composite Solutions, LLC invites applications for the

CNC Machinist Operator

position. This role reports to the Operations Manager and is essential to producing machined parts while maintaining quality, safety, and equipment standards.

Shift Information Second Shift: 3:30 pm – 12:00 am

Hourly Rate: $23.00 per hour

Plus 20% Shift Differential

Responsibilities

Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting GD&T.

Set up mills and lathes, installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and pushers.

Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

Verify settings by measuring positions, first‑run part, and sample work pieces; adhere to international standards.

Maintain specifications by observing milling, drilling, grooving, and cutting operations—including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing; take measurements; detect malfunctions; troubleshoot and reprogram controls; identify and sharpen or replace worn tools; follow quality assurance procedures.

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance; follow manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshoot malfunctions; request repairs as needed.

Maintain continuity by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.

Document actions by completing production and quality logs.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for new and differing requests and exploring opportunities to add value.

Assist and direct the cutting, machining, and configuration of complex block layouts before bonding to achieve final dimensional requirements.

Adhere to Business Management System requirements.

General Duties

Conduct night‑time shutdown of machinery.

Maintain a clean and organized work area and general housekeeping.

Typical Equipment Used

3‑axis or more machining center

Turning lathe

Various hand tools

Tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices

Carts, dollies, and other heavy‑weight moving equipment

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Train employees in the routine operation of the CNC for backup or additional shift coverage.

Other related duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

High school diploma or GED.

1‑3 years of experience in CNC machine operation.

Understanding of tool holders and tool types.

Understanding of differing feed and speed settings.

Understanding of tool path following/alternative paths.

Basic conceptual and math skills.

Ability to operate and enter data into standard Windows‑based computers.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Good interpersonal skills.

Analytical thinking/problem‑solving.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to multi‑task and be dependable, flexible, and adaptable to meet changing or multiple deadlines.

Take initiative to identify problems, obstacles, or opportunities and take action within the scope of the position.

Exercise judgment to solve operational problems where the answer is not apparent.

Mechanical aptitude.

Process understanding on mixing ingredients to make products.

Operate equipment (mixers, transfer tanks, ovens, saws, planers, lathes, milling, tumblers, dust collectors, hand tools, forklift).

Read and understand QC inspection documentation.

Visual acuity to identify surface quality defects 1/32” and larger.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Must lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently.

Regular exposure to noise, dust, high heat, and chemicals.

Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles.

Frequent reaching with hands and arms.

Constant standing and use of hands while performing essential job functions.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance To conform to U.S. Government export control regulations and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information restrictions, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorization from the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce.
