Responsibilities
Develop design basis and front-end engineering for minor and major capital projects. Examples include long-term capital project planning, conceptual project development, technology selection, and management of detailed engineering. Serve as project manager for early phase project work as required. Lead or participate in facility process improvement studies. Perform economic evaluations for options. Conduct various studies to improve plant safety (PHA, LOPA), reliability, and economics. Prepare process design basis and specifications for revamps and new projects (e.g., hydraulic studies/heat and material balances, sizing of equipment). Utilize process simulators for evaluation of unit performance and design changes. Develop procedures and support for commissioning new facilities. Facilitate agreements on operating philosophies and control strategies on plant units. Provide mentorship to junior process engineers in tool utilization, troubleshooting, and process monitoring. Lead or coordinate refinery performance studies. Present findings / reports to client organizations, technical and executive audience. Stay abreast of new technologies and trends Required Experience
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering A minimum of 10 years of related process engineering experience supporting refinery/petrochemical plant/oil and gas/specialty chemicals processing. Must have a registered Professional Engineering (PE) license, Texas and/or South Carolina preferred. Experience in process design. Advanced understanding of how equipment functions in the field and overall plant operation. Seniority Level
