Airswift
AirSwift is currently looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer to work in Mobile, Alabama for a major chemical client for an initial 1‑year contract. The role requires working from home as well as in the office, and traveling as needed for project support.
Contract & Working Hours
40 hours/week (OT may be required)
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized accredited program (ABET) in Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience
Minimum 8 years relevant work experience
Preferred Certifications & Experience
Professional Engineer (P. Eng.)
Prior experience as a Project Manager on single‑discipline projects preferred.
Prior experience as a CSA lead on major capital projects is preferred.
Ability to supervise engineering staff on industrial projects that range from small to large capital size projects.
Ability to assemble and review bid packages for civil/structural work scopes.
Familiar with applicable engineering codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, etc.) required.
Experience with civil/structural analysis software (Risa 3D & Risa Foundation preferred).
Must be proficient with CAD software and Microsoft Office.
Has the ability to produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs suitable for the level of the estimate being performed on a project.
Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks.
Independently applies knowledge and continuously develops the company’s quality program for the CSA department. Establishes related processes and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality. Provides guidance and direction to others and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
Must be able to perform field work to gather relevant project data and provide construction support as required.
Has the knowledge and experience to check calculations made by other engineers to ensure code and specification conformance and good engineering practice.
