Position Overview

Chiyoda USA Corporation is seeking an experienced

Blow Mold Manager

to lead and oversee all blow molding operations in our automotive plastics manufacturing facility. The Blow Mold Manager will be responsible for ensuring production efficiency, product quality, equipment performance, and compliance with Subaru and internal quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, hands‑on technical capability, and deep expertise in blow molding processes used in Tier‑1 automotive supply chains.

Key Responsibilities

Direct daily operations of the blow molding department, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality production.

Develop and maintain production schedules to meet Subaru’s delivery requirements and internal KPIs.

Oversee material handling, machine setups, mold changeovers, and troubleshooting activities.

Optimize blow molding parameters to achieve consistent part quality and minimize scrap.

Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment downtime, quality issues, or process deviations.

Ensure preventive maintenance (PM) schedules are followed and collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs and improvements.

Support tooling management, including mold condition monitoring and vendor communication.

Ensure all products meet Subaru quality standards and Chiyoda USA’s internal quality requirements.

Partner with Quality Engineering to address non‑conformities, implement countermeasures, and maintain documentation.

Supervise, train, and mentor blow molding technicians, operators, and support staff.

Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability.

Manage staffing levels, performance evaluations, and workforce development initiatives.

Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and cycle‑time improvements.

Lead and participate in kaizen events, lean manufacturing projects, and equipment upgrades.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, Production Control, and Maintenance.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.

Strong knowledge of blow molding machinery, tooling, processing parameters, and troubleshooting.

Experience working in a Tier‑1 automotive manufacturing environment.

Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred but not required:

Experience working directly with Subaru or other OEMs.

Technical degree in Plastics, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with plastic processing equipment.

Ability to stand, walk, and move between production areas for extended periods.

Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.

Flexibility for extended hours or weekend work as needed to support production.
