Field Service Technician - Instrumentation I'm working with a specialized instrumentation manufacturer that designs and supports cutting‑edge aerosol measurement systems used in semiconductor and research environments worldwide.

Due to rapid global adoption of their analyzers, they are adding an experienced Field Service Technician to support installation, commissioning, service, and customer support activities both domestically and internationally.

Role Overview This is a hands‑on field service role supporting air and gas analysis instruments and mass spectrometry systems. The position is primarily based on‑site at the company’s U.S. facility when not traveling, with regular customer‑facing responsibilities at client locations globally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for system installation, diagnostics, calibration, maintenance, and repair, while also supporting factory‑based activities such as assembly, testing, and product troubleshooting. This role reports directly to senior site leadership and works closely with engineering and product development teams.

Key Responsibilities Field Service & Customer Support Provide technical service and customer support both remotely and on‑site at customer facilities. Perform installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on advanced particle analysis systems. Diagnose measurement errors and system‑level issues, identifying and implementing effective technical solutions. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional, responsive on‑site support. Perform instrument calibration and generate appropriate calibration documentation and certificates. Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service precision scientific measurement equipment to specification. Ensure systems meet performance and quality standards before release or return to service.

Factory & Engineering Support Assist with product assembly, configuration, final checkout, and troubleshooting when not traveling. Provide practical, hands‑on feedback to engineering teams to support continuous product improvement and new product development. Document all service activities accurately and maintain detailed service records.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications Proven field service experience supporting complex, highly technical instrumentation—ideally within laboratory, semiconductor, medical, or process analyzer environments. Strong mechanical, electrical, and systems‑level troubleshooting skills. Hands‑on experience installing, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing scientific or analytical instruments. Comfortable working independently in customer‑facing environments and managing service activities end to end. Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and customer interaction. Willingness to travel up to ~50%, including some international travel. Associate degree in a technical discipline or relevant technical certification required.

Why This Role Exposure to genuinely cutting‑edge measurement technology. Opportunity to work in a small, high‑impact team with direct access to engineering and leadership. Mix of global field service and factory‑based technical work. Strong growth trajectory and long‑term technical career potential within a specialized instrumentation business.
