Job Description
Our Mechanics are the backbone of our fleet. They perform preventive maintenance and repairs on our trucks and equipment to ensure vehicles are ready to service our customers. Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including air brakes, electrical, hydraulic, engine, and emission-related equipment. Diagnose and repair specialty equipment. Respond to road calls or breakdowns when necessary. Order parts and supplies as needed. Use Dossier Fleet Management Software to record repairs and maintenance. Assist the regional fleet manager or supervisor to facilitate resolution of fleet-related issues. Perform preventive maintenance on various types of vehicles and equipment. Conduct inspections and document conditions on all equipment. Coordinate repairs with outside vendors. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local EPA, DOT, ANSI, OSHA, and safety regulations concerning fleet operations. Other duties as required. Work Environment
Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, non-hazardous fumes, and noise. Must be comfortable working independently. Interactions with customers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Read and interpret documents such as company policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, maps, and road signs. Speak, cooperate, and communicate effectively with customers, co‑workers, and management. Work independently and manage pressure to meet deadlines. At least 5 years’ experience working in a fleet or transportation industry with direct experience in medium/heavy truck repair. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Class A or B CDL with willingness to obtain a tanker endorsement if requested. Prior experience working in a fleet or transportation industry (required). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Experience with fleet management software, databases, and web programs preferred. Strong time‑management and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail. Maintain high integrity and make ethical decisions. Welding experience preferred. Ability to pass DOT drug screen, medical certification, physical exam, and road exams. Operate in a drug‑free workplace. Meet physical demand evaluation. Base pay range $35.00–$42.00 per hour (or more for valid CDL), with final compensation based on factors such as location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills. Salary Description
