Principal Aerospace Engineer

Job Summary

As an Aerospace Engineer, you will play a critical role performing research, developing models and simulations, and analyzing results for air and missile systems. You will work as part of a collaborative team of engineers and software developers to develop models and simulations of defense systems, including 6DOF and 3DOF dynamics, guidance, navigation, and controls applications. Applicants will also be tasked with reverse engineering of existing systems. Experience with interceptor seeker technologies is also required for this position. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, thrives in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, and enjoys researching and developing new skills.

Key Responsibilities

Develop air and missile system dynamics, controls, guidance, and navigation models.

Reverse engineer flight parameters for existing systems.

Analyze real‑world data and compare against simulated data for model verification.

Research new algorithms for air and missile systems.

Develop code for models and simulations.

Analyze model performance and perform verification, validation, and accreditation.

Lead analysis studies using developed models and simulations.

Make presentations and assessments summarized for customers.

Lead other engineers in development of models and simulations.

Qualifications And Skills Requirements

Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math or equivalent degree from an accredited university.

10‑20 years of experience.

Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD secret clearance.

Programming experience in Python, C/C++, or Matlab required.

Preferred Experience

Experience with GIT, Gitlab, or DevOps (or similar) preferred.

Experience with missile defense systems.

Experience with interceptor missile technologies.

Experience in physics‑based models and simulations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers.
