Immediately hiring a permanent full‑time senior‑level Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet in Charlotte, NC.

Position Description We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to work on heavy duty vehicles. This role offers a competitive hourly rate, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly pay: $31.50 per hour

Certification bonus up to $700 for new ASE certification

Quarterly bonus up to $500, four times per year

Sign‑on bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days

Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off

Shift: Second Shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm

Annual merit pay increases each year

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred

Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance and basic diagnostics

At least 3 years of relevant work experience preferred

All other certification as required by location

Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred

Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment

Computer skills: PC, Windows

Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, Ryder background and motor vehicle check

Additional screening may be required (employment verification, background, badging)

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance

Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers as applicable

Complete complex and detailed inspections and repairs with minimal supervision

Replace defective components as instructed

Work unsupervised on most tasks and maintain facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints

Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation

Adhere to federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels

Access and use internal and external maintenance documents

Provide other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)

SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)

Complete required OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool courses
