Your New Role As a
Senior Electrical Estimator
in Portage, MI, you’ll own the full lifecycle of project estimating from scope reviews and takeoffs to bid strategies and proposal submission. You’ll be a key player in company growth, working with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure every estimate is competitive, accurate, and strategically sound.
Lead complex electrical estimating efforts for commercial, industrial, and low-voltage projects
Analyze construction documents, specs, and drawings to determine project scope
Perform detailed takeoffs for power distribution, lighting, and specialty systems
Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors, issue RFQs, and evaluate pricing
Coordinate bid strategies with management, identifying risks and value-engineering options
Mentor junior estimators, sharing knowledge and sharpening team capabilities
Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client presentations
Maintain historical cost data and refine estimating tools and procedures
Support project handoffs to ensure clarity and smooth execution
Hiring Expectations:

7+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial, industrial, and/or low-voltage construction
Deep knowledge of NEC standards, construction methods, and electrical systems
Proven track record of leading successful estimates for medium to large-scale projects
Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, ConEst, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar)
Strong ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, specifications, and one-lines
Excellent organizational and mathematical skills with close attention to detail
Experience juggling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding communication and leadership skills
Preferred
Electrical License
High school diploma or equivalent
