Job Description Maintenance mechanics install, repair, and maintain machinery equipment. Responsibilities also include building and maintaining mechanical systems, and involve the use of a variety of hand and power tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Receive work orders that may include drawings, specification and instructions covering scheduled and emergency repair, installation and inspection work to be done.

Read and interpret drawings (Some Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic)

Repair equipment/components without the use of drawings, specifications and/or instructions.

Plans & performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical principles, and principles of operation and application of equipment.

Adhere to all safety regulations and report any hazards that may compromise a safe workplace.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Abilities

Experience in the trade working with industrial automation or a degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related field.

Experience with electrical and electronic tools and gauges.

Ability to read and interpret drawings (Some Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic)

Knowledge of hand tools, drill press, lathe and mill, electric drills, Welding (Mig required, Tig and Stick also preferred), pipe threading machine, acetylene torch, soldering iron, etc

General manufacturing experience.

Ability to work closely with supervision and fellow employees

Must be able to work overtime as needed, must also be able to work every other weekend and holidays if required.

Knowledge of Mechanical tools, combination squares, precision measuring equipment, electronic test equipment, along with various other tools common to this trade.

Able to sit, kneel, squat or bend, for long lengths of times.

Able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Lift 50 lbs. repeatedly if necessary.

Able to use common hand tools, and or power tools.

Able to grasp and manipulate small objects such as screws, rivets, wire terminals, etc...

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs or more>

Manual dexterity for handling tools and machinery.

Stamina for standing, bending, and working in tight spaces.

Physical strength for equipment repairs and heavy lifting. \ Comfort with working in noisy and sometimes hazardous environments.

Mental Requirements

Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot mechanical issues.

Attention to detail to identify malfunctions and defects.

Technical knowledge of machinery, electrical systems, and maintenance procedures.

Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Quick decision-making ability under pressure.
