Woolpert is hiring a
Senior Roadway Engineer
to join our dynamic
Transportation Team
at one of our
Ohio
offices. This position reports to the
Roadway Team Lead
and is responsible for the designs of roadway, bikeway, trail, and pedestrian projects. They lead designs of roadway, bikeway, trail and pedestrian projects, assist in resource planning, mentor junior staff, and manage allocation of work. The role will work on a variety of transportation projects spanning multiple clients, states and project types and will collaborate with teams in bridges, traffic, site development, planning, and more. The Engineering Design Team is rapidly growing, offering accelerated growth and upward mobility opportunities.
We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country where the job is located.
What You Will Do
Lead design of complex roadway and transportation projects requiring creative solutions, including roads, bikeways, pedestrian facilities, roundabouts, trails, multi-modal transport, and planning.
Direct engineering design tasks such as highway and street design, roadway alignments, roundabout design, roadway grading, modeling, curb ramp design, signing, pavement plans, maintenance of traffic, and storm drainage.
Use local and federal roadway standards to prepare preliminary and final design documents, cost estimates, and bid documents.
Perform detailed review of design plans and supporting documents.
Perform designs using software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD, and/or Civil 3D.
Assist Project Managers in writing proposals and preparing scope, schedule, and budget of projects.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical design field.
Minimum 8+ years of professional experience preferred.
Licensed PE (or ability to obtain a license in Ohio if licensed in another state).
Ability to lead design and allocate work to others.
Experience in Roadway, Highway, Trail, Bikeway/Pedestrian and/or Roadway Drainage design.
Expertise in Civil 3D and/or MicroStation, and OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
Experience with ODOT, INDOT, TxDOT is a plus.
Ability and desire to mentor design staff.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Ability to work across disciplines and coordinate with other firms on projects.

Pay Range $101,200 - $141,800 USD
