Position
Location: Plano, TX and Tampa, FL (onsite). Job Type: Contract on W2.
Job Responsibilities
Security focused within mainframe network space – develop and maintain encryption protocols.
Analyze and understand cryptographic data and encryption mechanisms.
Lead and coordinate projects; strong communication skills required.
Run upgrades and migrations in mainframe environment.
Modernize mainframe systems and manage migration projects.
Implement Network Security on the Mainframe (ICSF, zERT).
Apply regulatory frameworks impacting cryptography (NIST 800-53, ISO).
Manage and utilize cryptographic protocols, including Post-Quantum Cryptography and quantum-safe algorithms (lattice-based, hash-based, code-based).
Use scripting and automation tools (REXX, JCL, Python) – a plus.
Qualifications
Strong experience in mainframe space (not a router-focused role).
Proficiency with encryption and crypto data analysis.
Extensive communication and project coordination skills.
Experience with mainframe modernization and migration projects.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks for cryptography.
Certifications in security or mainframe technologies (CISSP, IBM z/OS Mainframe Practitioner, Marist z/OS Certificate).
Expertise in mainframe network products and protocols (z/OS, VTAM, TCP/IP, APPN, IPSEC).
Demonstrated experience with cryptographic protocols, Post-Quantum Cryptography, quantum-safe algorithms.
Scripting and automation proficiency (REXX, JCL, Python) – a plus.
