Mott MacDonald is seeking a Highway / Civil Site Project Engineer to support a variety of projects in New Jersey. This person will lead project teams, interface with clients and stakeholders, and be responsible for managing project deliverables, reviews, and budgets. We are looking to have this team member sit preferably in our Iselin, NJ or New York, NY office.

Responsibilities

Managing infrastructure and civil engineering or construction projects and tasks, directing assignments to project team members.

Listening to client needs and developing appropriate scope and fee proposals.

Reporting – financial, project, and construction status.

Coordinating multidisciplinary teams, both within Mott MacDonald and external sub‑consultants.

Providing technical and engineering support to projects as a licensed engineer.

Participating in interviews and presentations for prospective projects.

Other responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications

B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering.

Professional Engineering license, or the ability to obtain one.

6–8 years of experience in project management/delivery of transportation or municipal projects.

Experience should include highway design (geometrics, signing and striping, grading, traffic control), drainage design and pavement design. Preferred experience includes traffic engineering, including both traffic signal/electrical design and traffic analysis.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modeling software.

Experience with MicroStation ORD and Synchro.

Strong project management, leadership, and people‑management skills.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Experience with contract and subcontract management.

Eager and flexible to undertake a variety of tasks associated with the management of large projects.

Salary Expected salary for this position is:

NJ: $103,000 - $126,000

NY: $108,000 - $132,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
