Position Summary The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and performing preventive maintenance on roll-forming production equipment, hydraulic press brakes, de-coilers, take-up reels, and other manufacturing and facility equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment
Perform preventive maintenance per work instructions and schedules
Install, dismantle, move, and upgrade production and facility equipment
Diagnose and repair motors, wiring, PLCs, I/O modules, VFDs, and power supplies
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Use meters and electrical test equipment to troubleshoot issues
Align motors to manufacturer specifications
Perform general facility maintenance including plumbing, rigging, and machine repair
Maintain safe work practices, including proper lockout/tagout procedures
Maintain housekeeping standards in the maintenance and work areas
Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
Qualifications
6 months to 1 year of related maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Ability to read wiring schematics and electrical diagrams
Ability to size and wire electrical circuits in accordance with NEC and manufacturer specifications
Welding experience (MIG/TIG, brazing, torch, or stick welding) preferred
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
Computer literacy and ability to use basic software and internet tools
Physical Demands & Work Environment This role requires regular standing and the ability to communicate effectively. The associate may occasionally walk, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, or use hands and arms.
The position involves lifting and moving materials.
Up to 10 lbs regularly
Up to 25 lbs frequently
Up to 100 lbs occasionally (with assistance or appropriate equipment)
The work environment may include exposure to moving machinery, noise, varying temperatures, electrical hazards, fumes, and other typical manufacturing conditions. Noise levels are generally loud.
