$69,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Develop and optimize product designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.

Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D engineering drawings according to industry standards.

Conduct engineering analysis (e.g., FEA, DFM, DFA) to validate designs and predict performance.

Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes for new and existing products.

Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and R&D teams to ensure design feasibility and smooth transition to production.

Prototype, test, and validate design concepts to meet specified requirements and resolve issues.

Document design specifications, change orders, and test results thoroughly.

Recommended Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for part and assembly design.

Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.

Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and material properties.

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards and their application.

Bonus Qualifications

Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.

Proficiency with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, CFD) or PLM systems.

Demonstrated knowledge of Lean principles or Six Sigma methodologies.

Experience with specific manufacturing processes like injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, or additive manufacturing.

Ability to develop basic scripts or macros (e.g., Python, VBA) for design automation.
